Volunteers & Students: Who needs a WWC Check?

Use the Checklist below to identify if you need a WWC Check. Make sure you identify the correct category of child-related work you undertake. If you have problems please talk to your employer or contact the Screening Unit.

(2) Do the usual duties of the work involve, or are they likely to involve, contact with a child? YES

(3) Does an exemption apply?

If you are exempt you should NOT apply and your organisation should NOT insist that you apply.

If an exemption applies to you, you must NOT apply for a WWC Check
NO
If no exemption applies you are in child-related work.  Go to Question 4
(4) Does the ‘5 day threshold ’ apply? YES
You may choose to apply.
