Volunteers & Students: How to apply
Applications can be made at authorised Australia Post outlets.
Checks cost $10 for volunteers and must be paid when lodging your application form.
Volunteers who must have a WWC Check, and whose employer/volunteer organisation also require a Volunteers National Police Check, should contact the National Police Checks for Volunteers Program at the Department for Communities, to see if they are eligible to have the second check free.
Remember:
- You will be required to provide 100 points of identification when lodging your form. For a list of acceptable documents see the step-by-step guide on how to apply.
- You will need to provide at least one form of photo identification and proof of current address as part of the 100 point ID Check, or in addition to the 100 points ID.
- You will need to get your Employer/Volunteer Coordinator to sign the form before lodging your application.
NOTE: If none of the documents that you provide contain photographic identification, you will be required to provide a recent photograph of yourself that has been signed on the back by an authorised witness as indicated below:
"This is a true image of (name of applicant), name of person identifying applicant, position/role of person signing, date of signing". Click here for a list of authorised witnesses.

- If you live in a remote location and cannot attend an Australia Post outlet contact the Screening Unit.
