Employees: When to apply
As a paid employee you should apply for a WWC Check when you commence child-related work, and renew your WWC Card every three years if you continue to be employed in child-related work.
From 1 July 2011, if you are an employee and you have more than one child-related role in both paid and voluntary/unpaid work, you must apply for or renew your WWC Check as a paid employee and pay the higher fee.
