WWC Card Renewals
- The card expires after three years. Card holders are then required to reapply if they intend to continue child-related work. From 1 July 2011, when card holders who are reapplying and have more than one role in both paid and voluntary/unpaid child-related work, then they must renew as a paid employee and pay the higher fee.
- The Working with Children Screening Unit sends reminder renewal letters to card holders. It is important the Unit has the card holder's current address. To update this information, please click here.
- The renewal process is the same as for the first application. Application forms can be obtained and lodged at authorised Australia Post outlets.
- Applicants need to present sufficient documents to meet 100 points identification criteria when lodging their application. A simplified process has been introduced for card holders doing their first renewal. If these card holders apply in the same name as on their current card, they may use their unexpired card and the renewal letter instead of the usual 100 point identification documents.
- Please note: applicants who have changed their name or have expired cards will not be able to use this process and need to satisfy the standard 100 points identification criteria as on the application form.
- It is recommended that card holders reapply a month before their cards expire.
Lost or Stolen WWC Cards
A duplicate copy of a lost or stolen WWC Card can be obtained by contacting the WWC Screening Unit. The Unit will send a letter, which the card holder must sign and present at an authorised Australia Post outlet. The cost of a duplicate card is $10.
